MEET THE FOUNDER
Pradip Kumar Gupta
Retired Colonel, Organic and Hydroponic Horticulturist and Seedling Specialist
THE JOURNEY
From Balcony to Garden Centre
How a few pots on a first-floor balcony grew into Tishika Organic.
The Start
A Balcony full of vegetables
Pradip began growing okra, chillies, bitter gourds, and spinach on his first-floor balcony — learning by doing, one pot at a time.
Late 2020
200 Tomato Plants, One Pair of Hands
After months of quiet reflection, Pradit took on the care of roughly 200 tomato plants single-handedly — a season that turned a hobby into a calling.
Research & a Greenhouse Visit
Notes, Diaries, and a 4-Lakh-Seedling Greenhouse
He read widely, kept a garden diary, and visited a high-tech greenhouse with capacity for 4 lakh seedlings — its manager became an early guide and source of encouragement.
A Neighbour's Plants
30 Plants, One Renovation
A neighbour undergoing home renovation handed over nearly 30 plants for safekeeping — one more nudge toward starting a real garden centre.
Building Out
Poly Houses on the Terrace
Sourcing raw materials locally, Pradit built a number of small poly houses on the terrace and roof of the family's ancestral home — and the garden centre was up and running.
Going Hydroponic
Buckets, Tanks, and an NFT System
Extensive study convinced him of the need for vertical farming in a controlled environment. He built a working NFT model himself and completed two online courses on the basics of hydroponics.
Tishika Organic is Born
Online, and Open for Business
Tishika Organic was conceived around one early decision — to sell only what it grows and manufactures itself. The website went live, and products were listed on Amazon India.
WHAT PRADIT KUMAR GUPTA BELIEVES
A Few Things He Holds True

01
Work With Nature, Not Against It
02
Knowledge Grows When Shared
03
Waste Is a Resource in Disguise
Healthy soil, clean water, and chemical-free practices are the foundation of everything we grow. Nature has always been our greatest teacher.
A seedling is only the beginning. By teaching organic farming and hydroponics, we empower more people to cultivate sustainably and confidently.
From vermicomposting to responsible growing practices, we believe every output can become an input. Sustainability is not an afterthought—it is part of the design.
"I am a cultivator of sustainable abundance, fostering organic and hydroponic ecosystems to bring forth the essence of thriving green life."
